The reporter learned from Sinopec on the 13th that the 110 kV cable insulation material hanging demonstration project of Yanshan Petrochemical affiliated to Sinopec was officially launched recently, and the high-grade cable insulation material independently developed and produced was applied for the first time. This marks the first industrial demonstration application of China's domestic new high-grade insulation materials, which will accelerate the localization process of China's high-grade cable insulation materials and improve the situation of long-term dependence on imports.

Sinopec said that the cable insulation material is known as the "protective film" of wires and cables, the nerve and blood of the national economy. It is an insulating material wrapped around wires and cables, mainly including rubber and plastic. Common cable insulating materials can be used for medium and low voltage cables with voltage grade of 35 kV and below, while high-grade cable insulating materials can be used for high-voltage, ultra-high voltage and ultra-high voltage cables with voltage grade of 110 kV and above. They are suitable for deep-sea, aviation and other fields. For a long time, China's high-grade cable insulation materials mainly rely on imports.

Sinopec pointed out that the high-grade cable insulating material independently developed and produced has excellent performance and reliable quality. The high-grade cable insulating material produced by Yanshan Petrochemical has high standard cleanliness, uniformity and stability, high safety performance and long service life. It can fully meet the performance requirements of high-voltage cable with voltage grade of 110 kV
